April 1st kicks off the Mendocino Coast Abalone Season. Rough seas are the bane for visiting divers for this treasured mollusk. Coastal natives hope “white caps” in the ocean provide the needed warning that ‘no abalone this trip is OK’ versus a high risk of death in the sea. Please don’t become a statistic.

4/10-13: The Tall Ship ‘Hawaiian Chieftain’ in Noyo Harbor, FB – sign up for dockside tours and Adventure Sailing (this is loads of fun & worth a memorable photo or two!)
4/18-26: Mendocino County Party for the Planet 2014 (Earth Day) kicks off with numerous county wide party venues – from 1 hour free Outrigger rides on Big River Estuary on the 19th, to tours of Community Supported Agricultural (CSA) Farms to local wineries hosting tours & tastings with local fare, and more.
